The OGC Mentorship III: SHORTLIST

After heaps of applications, a bunch of website technical difficulties and a few too many coffees we’ve finally selected the shortlist for our third mentorship program.

Below is a list of 13 artists (in alphabetical order only) who will now be viewed once again by  The OGC team and an independent guest judge, who – this year we are delighted to announce –  is Bindi Vora,  Projects Manager at The Photographers Gallery and past Close Up speaker.

THE NEXT STAGE…

We usually finish our talks with the statement ‘The industry is big but the community is small..’ so bearing that in mind we’re aware the judging process for many awards, competitions, bursaries, etc. can never truly have a ‘blind judging’ process- so we hope with a team involved including an independent judge we can make it as democratic as possible to chose a deserving mentorship winner.

We also aim to provide feedback for all the individuals shortlisted, such as; what we liked about their work, why we thought they may not have been suitable for the mentorship and any advice we can provide for them moving forward.

The group will meet this week to discus the strongest applications and vote for their preferred candidate. The shortlisted applicant with the most votes will then be awarded The OGC Mentorship III, in addition a runner-up will be also be chosen and will receive a portfolio review and print prize.

The winner and runner-up will be contacted directly and then announced online Friday 2nd December.

Best of luck to all involved!
