Very often people ask me when my project will come to an end, as it is now the second year I am working on it. It was my final project at university and was successfully presented in a group exhibition, but it was just a start. The answer is: no deadlines! We will see where it takes me, that’s the beauty of it.
I feel and see positive, empowering feedback from women and thus I need to carry on. Lots of work has to be done, and besides, I do learn a lot myself as a young woman exploring, growing and sharing. This is my way of giving something back.
My project, ‘Women and their inner wild woman,’ started in 2013 and it is an ongoing project. The work aims to capture the beauty, strength and power of the inner wild woman through collaboration with women from different countries, age groups and backgrounds.
Despite the vast differences between them, these women all have an awareness of their power, of the importance of listening to their inner selves and cultivating a connection with nature. They have all found a way to connect with and express their wild woman, which has brought them to the current moment they are experiencing in their lives.
It doesn’t mean I photograph women only when they are connected with themselves and are blossoming, sometimes it takes a few therapeutic photo shoots to help women connect, open, listen and be themselves again:awake that inner wild woman.
A little homework for women before photo shoots:
- Choose a personal location, where you feel most comfortable, free, beautiful, and at peace with yourself. Where do you go to recharge your energy?
- Choose an activity, it can be dancing, drinking tea, walking, drawing and really anything that makes you happy.
Let’s do that together, let’s empower women, energy and unity!
It is a social project so no charges for photo shoots, just a donation to support and keep my/the project going.
